Jerry Weiland's 1966 Coupe

#1328

It’s a very early 1966 (actually built in May 1965) as far as I can tell. I purchased it from a man in Minnesota who owned it seven years and had purchased it from a storage company in Phoenix, AZ and was titled to Zurich-American Insurance Co. God only knows how long it was in storage - or why - but it’s a beautiful rust free car. It had been "updated" before he bought it. It had a ‘68T engine which I have replaced with a ‘66E in June. I also updated the Weber carbs from IDTP3 to 40IDA. It runs great and is a joy. It’s the only car I’ve ever seen with Mahle magnesium wheels. I’ve installed an MSD6AL ignition and coil. The interior is mostly original and has the wood dash with brass ignition lock , leather shift and emergency brake boots. The seats are cloth covered Recaro style aftermarkets, which are very nice but if I found some originals at a good price, I’d probably exchange.
